Behind the Scenes With Ken Jeong As “Bill Shock”

If you’ve visited any of our social accounts lately, you’ve probably seen a new face: Community and Hangover star Ken Jeong. No, he’s not a new team member – though we’d hire him in a heartbeat (are you interested, Ken?). The reality is that, in addition to being a wildly charming TV and movie actor, he’s also the lead in our new “Bill Shock” ad campaign.

When we were initially brainstorming celebrity partners to play the role of pesky roaming fees come to life, Ken was at the top of our list. His infectious energy, rapid-fire humor, and knack for stealing the spotlight in any scene made the choice a no-brainer. The decision was unanimous. It had to be Ken.

Fast forward several weeks from our initial brainstorming session. We’re now on set with a comedy legend decked out in a head-to-toe glimmering gold suit, punching up every scene until the entire crew is in stitches. Over two days, we saw a master in action as he brought our ideas to life.

Ken gave us so much material to work with that it overflowed beyond our three decided commercial scenes. But what should we do with it?

As shooting began to wrap up, it was clear that the “Bill Shock” campaign would be something special, not just because of the talented teams who dreamed it up but also because of the energy and humor that Ken Jeong brought to the project. His ability to turn a simple script into a laugh-out-loud experience is truly something magical.
